You might take a look at http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-choose-a-MicroController/, keeping in mind that it is almost a decade old now (mostly pre-dates Arduino, and completely pre-dates Raspberry Pi and similar. In fact, board-level computers are barely discussed.)
