Composite Video - Two Video Outs

Hi Gang

I'm looking at building a diversity system using an Arduino Uno for FPV and I'm wanting to have two video outs. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a simple circuit that can do this along with supporting documentation to understand how it works.

Cheers

I'm wanting to have two video outs

What is the source of the video?
The Arduino has not got the capacity to output one video channel from a camera let alone two.

Hi Grump_Mike

Thanks for your reply. I'm looking at purchasing a couple of video receiver modules. I want to use an Arduino Uno to poll the RSSI pins to determine the best video signal. I noticed on the 'Application Diagram' that there is only one video output but I would like two. One for my goggles and one for my video monitor. I hope that clarifies things.

Cheers

So does this give an analogue output?

I noticed on the 'Application Diagram'

Where's that then?

hope that clarifies things.

Sorry no.

I also get an access denied but I can find the page once I'm on the Banggood site. Here's the site I found.

If that doesn't work, search for "RX5808".

Apparently the RSSI is an analog output.

You can likely use the Arduino to monitor the RSSI pin but I don't understand what you expect the Arduino to do with the video part?

I think you have the wrong impression of what the Arduino (or just about any microcontroller) is capable.

An Arduino cannot capture video and then retransmit it.

You might be able to get away with splicing the video out and connecting it both to the monitor and to the glasses. I'm not sure how the receiver will like this but I think this sort of thing is done a lot (which is no reason to think it's okay).

Edit: The earlier link now works for me. Apparently Banggood wants people to pick up a cookie or something before they're allowed access. It seems very odd to me.

Maybe Banggood will allow access to a search result? Nope. The link doesn't even work for me.

Hi Guys

I will try another supplier link.

Video Receiver Module

I want to use Arduino to poll the RSSI pin. I'm looking for a simple circuit/IC to split the video. I would really like to find an article that outlines how it works (maybe I'm dreaming).

Example A

Example B

I'd think these things would be widely available but I had a hard time finding them.

This is the least expensive video splitter I could find ($24 shipped).

Hi DuaneDegn

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to make my own.

Cheers

Connecting a single composite video output to two inputs is generally done with no problems. Try it out, i'm sure it will work just perfectly.

If the signal needs to be absolutely perfect and you have long cables, the only correct option is a distribution amplifier like the one DuaneDegn posted a picture of.

It's like a splitter for 2 pair of headphones on one walkman/mp3/whatever thingy. - works just fine!
