CTRL + F Keyboard Focus Issue - Re-installation Is Only Fix I Can Find

So each time I restart my machine (Windows 10 Pro v1709) I fire up the Arduino IDE and reach the same frustrating conclusion ... the keyboard focus when searching my code is again broken!? >:(

I have no idea where to start in tracking down this setting consistency issue or why the IDE doesn't retain control of this across a Windows Reboot and I can't find anything, here, or otherwise, about it online.

Is anyone else experiencing this? ... pressing [CTRL]+F to search your sketch to find that you need to grab the mouse, click into the search box, and then start typing instead of just typing, like normal programs?

Something screwy with my machine? Something screwy with the Arduino 1.8.5 IDE version?

An uninstall/re-install cycle resolves the issue each time, but that sure is an unfortunate pain each reboot!

Thoughts?
