Cursor missing in GUI

HP Pavilion with Win 10.

I have double checked my end more then once since it started, up to and including a clean install of both the Installer and/or the Zip..

When I first started with the Arduino IDE I was able to write code, compile and run on my UNO but now all I can do is Highlight text/code. Cannot copy/paste highlighted.

Now on my Intel i5 desktop with Win 7 I do not have this issue and I have even tried backwards compatable to Win 8, 7 and even XP on the laptop.

I feel it is something simple but being in my late 60's I tend to over look the obvious.

Check to see if File > Preferences > Use External Editor is checked. If it is then uncheck it and the problem will go away.

Thank you Pert, that was it, the time frame falls when I installed NotePad++
