Does anyone know what this lead is called? The one with the red, black, yellow and blue coloured cables? I have 6 CYDs and all I have are the power cables and I want to expand projects using the available extended IOs. GPIO 35, GPIO 21 (Backlight), GPIO 22, GPIO 27.

I’ve seen quite a few on Aliexpress but I have no idea of the size I need or if there is a unique name for them. If someone who knows exactly what they are called, could you have a look on Aliexpress and send me a link to them please?

I use a PB1.25 to Dupont 2.54mm Connectors and Cables Kit to make up various cables for CYD displays
a MCP23017-GPIO-expander is useful for adding extra GPIO , e.g. for extra SPI select lines
also worth looking at is the tca9548a-i2c-multiplexer

No the connector is different. That one in the image has a tab. The one I’m looking for doesn’t.

As @horace mentioned in #4, the following connector types are compatible:

You can search for "connector 1.25" on Amazon.

The 2P type is suitable for connecting speaker.

But due to incorrect circuit constants around the audio IC (SB8002B), it may have the worst sound quality. If you need any improvements to the sound quality, please let us know.

Well I’ve ordered these 1.25mm, 4 pin connectors from AliExpress and will be arriving today. Hopefully they will fit. Fingers crossed. I’m not too concerned with the colour coding, I just want them to fit. I’ll let you all know how I get on.

Finally got the ones that fit. Got them from AliExpress 1.25mm pitch 4 pin. Pity the colour coding are not the same but I’m not too worried :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you look carefully at the connector, you'll see that if you press gently on the exposed metal tab, the individual sockets can be removed from the white plastic shroud. Any colour order can then be arranged; of course, if the colours you want aren't there at all, that's a different problem.
