also, it now behaves the same way it did with DCF module directly on MEGA, before i started using uno with superfilter

If you use the same power supply for both devices, you may get an "accidental" common ground connection. Otherwise luck may also have played a part.
now when i think about it, it worked while both boards were connected to tje computer, so they may have had the common ground thay way?
then i disconnected UNO from usb and hooked it up to power supply on barrel jack... and then it didnt work any more...

ok, with common ground it picked up signal and synced right away. will keep restarting during the day to see if it works every time. if the common ground was the problem, i think i should give up electronics, basic basic thing
