Did I lose my libabries?

I have been using IDE 1.0.6 as it worked with a sketch I wrote for an RTC, a DHT and some relays. I now wish to play around with Blynk for the network access. In trying to use their example Servo sketch, I found it wouldn't compile, so I posted my issue to the Blynk forum. A reply suggested that I upgrade my IDE to 1.6.x which lead me to the most recent (1.6.7), but I guess there is now an actual procedure to "install" a library, whereas previously I just needed to get the unzipped folder into the Documents/Arduino/Libraries folder. Following the install instructions given here on arduino.cc to the letter, I am finding that the Manage Libraries will not recognize the Blynk library, regardless of it's name. When trying to manually install the library via Sketch/Include Library/Add .ZIP Libraries, I get the following errors which lead me to believe that this new IDE has completely invalidated every other library that I've accumulated thus far.

Arduino: 1.6.6 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)"

Can anyone make heads or tales of this matter? TYIA

Just tested this with my installation and find that if the folder structure under Libraries>[NameofLibrary] isn't correct, it will throw the error. All of my old libraries are valid, except the ones that I intentionally messed up.

Also note that the original way of using libraries still works. Unzip library into the documents>libraries folder, then loading them through your sketchbook.

This folder contains two libraries, Ethernet and Firmata. You need to move those library folders directly under C:\Users\Jeffy\Documents\Arduino\libraries for them to be valid libraries.

Invalid library found in C:\Users\Jeffy\Documents\Arduino\libraries\aREST-app-example-master: C:\Users\Jeffy\Documents\Arduino\libraries\aREST-app-example-master

This isn't a library so it makes complete sense for the IDE to say it's an invalid library.

My guess is you have it installed wrong. Here's how I installed it and it works fine:

These are all just repeats of the previous warnings, I don't know why the IDE does that, I've reported the issue but I'm not sure if they fixed it yet.

I got into Arduino to support another project, and that was roughly a year ago. In the meantime I had to take some time off from my studies so I am a bit rusty on my newbie level skills. That said, I honestly can't remember where I picked up each of the libraries as many I'm yet to use. Just trolling archived posts on this forum likely lead me to the extents of each library. I know for certain I didn't get them from any uncommon website outside of github, adafruit, sparkfun, other popular names like that.

I will try to copy Blynk's 4 folders right out into the libraries folder and see if I can't load a sketch. If that doesn't work, I'll digress from (now 1.6.6) to 1.6.4. If that doesn't work, I'll report my findings. Thanks so much for the assistance.

Well just take a look at the contents of each of those folders. Most likely either it's not a library or the library is in a subfolder instead of being directly under that folder(although it's fine if it's in a src folder).

Solved:

Some months back, I had backed my data up and wiped my C: drive and did a fresh install of the OS. In the new OS, I just pasted my Arduino folder and I'm guessing some things were moved around because I cleaned out my libraries folder and ensured that every sub library folder contained a .h and/or .cpp file. As the Blynk folder contained another set of folders, deleting the parent Blynk folder solved my problem. The Servo example sketch compiled and I will try to load it onto either of my boards and get back to playin around.

Thanks all for your time
