DRC check failed for pads for a component

I'm using an MP1584EN voltage regulator from the library, and a DRC check shows errors for the pads of the component, as shown below. What can I do to fix it, or should I ignore the warnings?

  • What is the width of your traces ?

Traces width is 0.125mm. For VCC, it's 0.5mm.

Clearance min: 0.152
Via diameter min: 0.61
Via drill min: 0.305

  • Although 6mil (.15mm) for signal traces and 20mil (.5mm) power traces are acceptable, unless there is a good reason to use these, suggest you go larger; 10mil for signal traces, 40mil for power, (or more).

Wouldn't this trigger more DRC errors? Any reasons from your experience to go wider? I'm basically building a circuit with ESP32 with voltage regulator and TFT display

  • Only if the trace to pad clearance is too close.

  • From my experience, for beginner soldering, the wider traces are best as there is more copper to FR4 contact.
    Very narrow widths are easy to delaminate.
    But, if there is a reason to use the minimum widths a manufacturer can make, go ahead and use the dimensions.

I just replaced the component with another same user-contributed component and the error went away.

How do you know it's the correct footprint?
Many of the user contributed are wrong.

Do you actually think you can tell if something is off by 0.5mm by printing on paper? How about making actual measurements

Why don't you use the manufacturer's recommended footprint, cant go wrong.
