Hi, I'm working on a project with the Arduino and electronics housed in one box, with an external moving setup. We are hoping to make a couple variations of the external setup and want to add a "plug" that connects the external setup to the box. I thinking something along the lines of a rj45 or rj11 connector, but the wires I am using a little too big for that, being 20 or 22 AWG. The connection would be 5 total wires. does anyone have any suggestions on some connections that might be viable. thank you
I use what are called airplane connectors. Here is a picture of one.

They come in various sizes both in the number of pins and the conductor size. Easy to connect and hold when the holding ring is tightened.
5 pin XLR

5 pin DIN

as already suggested: GX12
Hello!
For your project, consider using 5-pin aviation connectors or Molex connectors. These connectors are suitable for 20 or 22 AWG wires and provide a secure connection. Aviation connectors are robust and often used in industrial applications, while Molex connectors are versatile and widely available. Both options should work well for connecting your external setup to the box.
You can search for 'circular mil connector' on aliexpress or on electronic component distributors ( mouser, rs... )
When you write 'mil' be prepared to pay... but if you search you can find 'decent quality at a decent price'
thanks for all of the suggestions!
