I'm working on a project to control one of these, and I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with controlling this type of DC motor. I've done some digging here and elsewhere to no avail. Would an Ard be able to control this type of motor?

I could find references to surplus dealers for this motor, but nothing regarding a datasheet or anything of that nature.
Without such a reference, it would be impossible to know if you can control such a motor, short of someone else here having direct knowledge and experience with it (plus a copy of the datasheet(s)).
I suspect, though, that this motor needs a proper power industrial supply and likely a controller for it - so you would either need to acquire those parts, or replicate them as well. With those parts, though - likely the controller needs only an RS-422 or RS-485 (or maybe even RS-232) serial connection to control it (then it is just a matter of the protocol - which would be explained in the datahseet or manual of the controller).
If you have a copy of the datasheets or other information needed, posting them in some manner so that we could read them would be most helpful.
