I recently bought an apple tv gen 3 (the old one) and i think its not worth it to buy a remote just to connect my phone i have tried every library and script there is and nothing works can someone help me with a working script
if you have an iPhone then the remote application is included in iOS.
(wasn't the remote sold with the Apple TV? they are usually bundled)
Check the Google Play or the Apple App Store for solutions.
no need, it's already native in iOS
True but if, for example, the unit is previously owned it could be programmed for an unknown wifi access point. I was unable to get one to connect to the IOS app without first using a handheld remote to reset it. After that it worked just fine with the IOS app. YMMV
By the way the IR function of the Apple Remote is used to control a TV or soundbar, etc. The Apple TV uses Bluetooth for its remote control. IR Blaster won't help you.
you can use the micro-USB Port and iTunes to reset the Gen 3
Ah, that's handy to know!
Gen 3 and older use IR.
you have calibrate the app with a code that you insert on the tv
Not sure if that was an answer to me
The iPhone app uses WiFi . There is no IR capabilities on an iPhone
They have IR but the Apple TV box is controlled by radio. I control my 4K model from a different story much less a different room. IR doesn't penetrate walls.
is not
which uses IR only.
OLD gen 3, not 4K gen 3.
