Arduino UNO Q is very close to being a capable standalone platform for music and MIDI applications, but the current kernel does not include ALSA Sequencer support.
On the current system:
Kernel: 7.0.0-g122c2c22d838
# CONFIG_SND_SEQUENCER is not set
/dev/snd/seq is missing
modprobe snd_seq:
FATAL: Module snd_seq not found
Enabling:
CONFIG_SND_SEQUENCER=m
and optionally:
CONFIG_SND_SEQ_DUMMY=m
would open many possibilities with software that already supports standard MIDI ports, including Mixxx, Pure Data, Chromium Web MIDI, synthesizers, plugin hosts, virtual MIDI routing and USB MIDI controllers.
This appears to be a relatively small kernel configuration change with a broad practical impact.
Would you consider enabling ALSA Sequencer support in the standard UNO Q kernel?
