esp8266 as a server

i'm unable to connect my python application to esp8266. can anyone help me out how to connect my application to esp8266 and how to send an receive data using esp8266 with arduino?

This is going to be difficult for us, because you haven't told us anything useful.

Just gonna leave this here: a Beginner's guide to the ESP8266.

You'll probably want to look at the chapters on WebSockets (TCP) and UDP (the example uses NTP, but the principle is the same).

We can't possibly help you if you don't give us any information on what you're trying to do.

Sorry for jumping in... I'm working on a project with the similar task of linking my Wemos D1 Minis to a Pi Zero W. The Pi would be running "Mosquitto" MQTT. Should shorten the code for the Wemos. Maybe no need for a webserver. Bookmarking this thread so I can check back later to see progress on your project.

Good luck. I have had lots of great advice from the forum.

The first chapter looks good. We need a guide on how to access those other chapters!

You can use the arrow on the right hand side (it doesn't seem to work in Edge - sigh - I'll update it ASAP.)

Pieter

That's pretty subtle, I never thought of looking there.

While you are here perhaps you can explain the trend for using light grey on white text which seems so common lately. You will appreciate the question a bit more when your eyes age.

Do you mean the normal text or just the code fields?
I personally find it more comfortable to read grey text on white background than completely black on a completely white background. But I understand your remarks, I'll keep them in mind when editing the pages.

Thanks,
Pieter

I mean the normal text. An earlier version of this forum software had the same 'feature', fortunately they changed it.

I have read the first 8 or 9 chapters so far and in my opinion your work is exceptional. What would make the implementation better (in addition to darker text) would be some means to access individual chapters without having to step through all the others.

I from the spelling of your name and the way you express the date I suspect that English is not your native language but otherwise there is no hint of that in your guide.

Don

Thank you very much for your kind feedback!
I added an index of all chapters, you can access it by moving your mouse to the button on the left (the three horizontal bars).
I also made the text darker.

Pieter

Pieter; Excellent introduction! Thanks
