Is it possible to add a few extra features to the quick reply, specifiaclly the quote and code buttons and a smiley or two, just to save going into the full reply.
Of course you can always type the codes in, but that gets a bit tedious.

at this point quick reply is made without all the editor extra functions. It is meant for quick text-only replies. If you need to quote, then you should just click on the "quote button" on top of the message you want to quote and it will open the normal editor with the text inbetween quote-marks.
No problems, it would be nice to have a quote, code and a single smiley, but that can be typed in easy enough.

I believe quick reply is disabled by default, as I don't see it
but it's a little window that shows up on the thread's page that you can type a reply in without leaving the thread
Don't you see it at the bottom of a thread page? It saves clicking "reply" and getting zapped off to a new page.

AFAIK it's a forum-wide option.

I don't see way to type anything without hitting the Reply button, which opens the Post Reply form with all the smilies and buttons for inserting code & stuff.
