Fully automated Cigar Humidor

I have been reading and researching a lot about how to build an fully automated Cigar Humidor, but to purchase one....i guess to pay somewhere in the $2 K range is a little bit over the edge I would say,

which brought me here to discuss my future project. " The fully automated Humidor".

As i am totally new to this, but have electrical and electronical experience, it is just now a matter of putting the right parts together.

I have been looking through Arduino's products, but frankly am a little confused with all the different boards and capabilities.

Here is what the Humidor needs to have and do:

  1. Temperature and Humidity and Controls and Read outs (preferably TFT Screen or Touch pad)
  2. Thermo-electric element control ( Heating/Cooling)
  3. Fully automated Humidity via Ultrasonic Humidifier ( Auto-fill of reservoir, Water Level readout)
    Pump station with Reservoir
  4. Wifi connect and Control for all parameters ( Water level, temperature, humidity) Back up battery
    on power failure.
  5. I Phone control ( Read outs temperature, humidity, Water level inside Humidor and outside
    Reservoir.

So, now i am faced with getting the right components, which i hope someone could help me here and i can start learning to program the board meanwhile.

Wow, that is quite an ambitious project!

Love the iPhone control idea -- you could change the humidity of your cigars from the other side of the world!

I trying to understand the difference between all the boards and shields. If i were to use a Yuno as my board where is the power supply? or is the Yuno just a shield... confusing..
do i have to get a base board like the Mega or UNO first in order to use the Yuno?
Can anybody fill me in, like it said I am pretty new at this so please be patient with me,thank you.
