Getting Inform From Gpib to Arduino

Hi there, I am trying to figure out how to get information from a Gpib to an Arduino. I have some lab equipment that has a gpib port I was also given a gpib to usb converter. Is there any way that I can connect the equipment to the Arduino either directly using the usb ports or do I have to do something else. This is new to me so if you're saying something smart, dumb it down.
Thanks in advance

No you won't be able to do what you want to.

If the test equipment has a RS-232 port, then you can.

What is the point of using the Arduino?

Post a link to the datasheet or user manual for the device with the GPIB port.

.

That is not the sort of link I was looking for - though it may be useful.

Post a link to the datasheet for the device that has the GPIB output - the piece of lab equipment.

If you can find a link to a document that contains the GPIB specification that would also be useful.

Many test equipment have such ports.
