Does anyone have any recommendations for a GPS module? I'm currently using the adafruit trinket with the bluetooth uart friend and I want to connect those two to a gps chip so that I can send location data to my phone.
I have a gps bee v1.0 from ElecFreaks.com, but I'm not really sure how, so if anyone has some advice on that it would also be appreciated!
Bluetooth is very short range, 10M maybe a bit more, so the position your phone will receive will be very close to the phones own location, not sure why you would want to do this.
Perhaps you could explain in a lot more detail what you are trying to do and why ?
Sorry about not responding earlier, I had a few exams these past few days, but I'm only using bluetooth as one component of my project. I plan on also having a wired device and a device that uses radio for comparison, so I'm asking about bluetooth because that's the one I'm currently working on.
So the main objective of the project is to create a "tracking device" for some campus bikes. That way, we can add them to the map of the campus and students can easily find them through the campus app that some friends of mine are coding. Since I have to present this to the school I wanted to show them multiple models, starting with a wired connection (an arduino and a GPS shield) then a bluetooth connection, and finally showing them the radio version (which should be able to get at least 1km range).
I'm really stuck on the GPS chip part because I'm having trouble finding any sort of documentation about the GPS Bee v1.0, so I thought that I would come here and ask if anyone has had any sort of experience with it or knew of any models that would also be roughly the same price and size.
