Help with school project. Arduino Uno+WIFI+bluetooth.

Hello everyone,

I am in my junior year of EE and working on a project for school. Is it possible to connect the arduino UNO v3 to a bluetooth and the arduino wifi shield? I am new to using arduino's but i have an idea for a project which i will explain. What i want to do is connect to the arduino uno through bluetooth, process a signal that will then be sent to a server through the wifi shield and get a response back from the server, which will then allow the arduino to give an output. I've read online that with an IO expansion shield i can connect a bluetooth but i dont know how to connect the wifi shield. I will greatly appreciate your help.

I am also new to the forum and i am not sure if this is the right section for the post.

You can always post questions, but perhaps 30 minutes of google- is-my- friend research would help you verbalize your question more precisely and, if not providing you with the answer right away, would at least show some effort on your side

What i want to do is connect to the arduino uno through bluetooth

Connect it to what?

process a signal that will then be sent to a server through the wifi shield

Where is this signal coming from? What kind of "signal" is it?

and get a response back from the server, which will then allow the arduino to give an output.

Output to what?

Hi PaulS, i should have explained better. I want to connect my iphone 4 through bluetooth to my arduino UNO and then check if the device is on the database list, which will then connect to a server through WIFI. The server will then allow the signal to be accepted and open my door. I have found out that connecting to the iphone IOS is only done now through a bluetooth BLE (4.0) without enrolling in apple's MFI program and people are still working on it, i have yet to find any sellers.

You will still have to develop a native IOS app to make use of BLE on the iPhone. It's part of the Core Bluetooth API. Texas Instruments have published some demo source - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:IPhone4SBLEDemo.
