I brought this IR Led receiver
How can i connect it with ardunio nano to print the HEX code of any remote button ?
I brought this IR Led receiver
You need to use an IR Receiver and it must match the IR frequency.
The protocol must match too, example NEC.
These are a good choice for many IR Remotes.
TSOP4836 or TSOP4838
Both the 'Swiss Guy' and Bill over at Dronebot-Workshop have covered that subject quite well.
If it only has 2 pins it is probably just a photodiode and not a receiver, which includes processing for recovering the data from the modulated carrier.
You prefer this part over TSOP38238? That's what I use but should I switch in your opinion?
I get > 25 feet range with the TSOP4838 receiver and these remotes.
These are NEC protocol, and usually come with a receiver.
I got fifty of TSOP4838 from eBay a few years back.
38kHz
38kHz
38kHz
I get about 25' as well with these "remotes" (Magiquest Wands - Magiquest is an interactive game in the halls of places like Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, perfect solution for energetic kids who want to run up and down the hotel halls! It'll bring the kid in you out again, guaranteed. No I don't work for GWL, Magiquest or its affiliates, just a satisfied guest at their resorts, Magiquest is rad!)
Of course being minded as we in this community are, upon playing this I immediately had to figure out how to make my own versions of the props a) because Hallowe'en and b) why let the wands go to waste after the family trip is over?
TSOP38238 work well, but not perfectly. It can be tricky as there's sometimes missed signals or double signals (which may actually be a feature, not a bug come to think of it...)
Maybe pick up a few TSOP4838 receivers and try them.
Obviously, two remotes at the same time would be a no no.
There are times when I like using these remotes in projects instead of dedicated switches.
Needs only one Arduino pin for 44 buttons (last remote shown).
In the Mouser cart. Ten for $8 and $20 to ship from the next city over!
Slick way to do things.
Cheers. I'll just shop out a few more goodies to make shipping worthwhile from Mouser. Support local (even if the Amazon link probably is Mouser for where I live just outside Kitchener )
Sweet! I keep wanting to try out some Wago 222-415 and similar for their wide wire gauge (AWG 28-12) tolerance.
Faaaamily's out for the eeeevening...and daaaaddy's going shawwwppin
Thanks!
