How to mount a shield on top of Arduino

Hi,

Is there a standard way of mounting a shield on top of an Arduino? Or should I just come up with mine? Can someone please show me pictures of how it's done?

Thanks,
Nuno

Typically, you just use the pins. The friction between the pins and sockets is more than enough, if you use enough pins. I've thrown together a few shield prototypes with as few as 6 pins (4 at bottom, 2 at top) and it's OK. Use all the pins, or even half the pins on each side, and there's plenty of mechanical connectivity for typical applications, whatever those are. (:

Hi!

I see. Perfect! That makes it much simpler. I just tried it and it works.

Thanks!

Nuno

I do mine like this:-

I've thrown together a few shield prototypes with as few as 6 pins (4 at bottom, 2 at top) and it's OK.

I've made a four pin "mini-shield" :stuck_out_tongue: (2 somewhat at bottom right, 2 somewhat at top left) which worked but was somewhat marginal--it also requires more thought when you attach the shield to make sure the pins line up correctly. (Although that probably had more to do with the fact I wasn't using the extreme bottom and top pins.)

/me waits for someone to chime in saying they use only one pin shields.
