IDE hangs on startup

I've got the exact same problem... Last Arduino IDE ran without any problem but after installing (at least 4 times) the new one (2.2.1) stays on loading screen.

No missing folder and the antivirus is just fine (no quarantine folders found).

My computer runs just fine besides...

If you're using Windows, please follow the instructions in Arduino 2.0.3 stuck on loading screen - #2 by ptillisch and post the results (using code tags, the <CODE/> button in the composer window).

Although I'm not a specialist in this area and probably will not be able to help further, it will help others to help you.

Hi,
I think I can add another type of problem in your list...
The only error I see in the windows powershell file is this one at line 134 :

time="2023-11-20T13:15:49+01:00" level=info msg="fro> & ".\Arduino IDE"[19772:1120/131746.537:ERROR:gpu_init.cc(523)] Passthrough is not supported, GL is disabled, ANGLE is

It has something to do with the graphics card but what exactly ?...

@antares_121

From memory (I think I have the same, can't check now) that is not a problem.

@sterretje
You were right, this error message wasn't the problem.

I ran Windows Powershell one more time and some errors with json files showed up (# files not found and so on)
I tried again but WITHOUT using a VPN and it worked. Seems like it does not find these files properly with a VPN.

(by the way, sorry for posting on multiple subjects, I'll delete these posts)

I consolidated the posts to a single thread.

Thanks for taking the time to post an update with your findings @antares_121.
