LCD with less pins

Hi all,
Hoping to get some help on LCDs. I have purchased some displays and I'm wanting to run them off the least amount of wires possible.

Can I piggyback a serial adaptor to this?

After a quick read thru the datasheet: quite likely, and it will mostly work. The display only has 15 pins rather than the usual 16, but the ordering is the same. The usual I2C packpack connects the backlight's LED anode to Vcc and controls the cathode pin - which is missing on your display. So the backlight will be full on all the time.

Thanks for the reply!

Would something like this work?

Since you already have the display why not add a module like this? That way you only need two pins to drive the display.
