LED circuit won’t function

Hi,
Can you load an earlier version of the IDE and try that?

Version 2.0.1 is still very new.

Thanks.. Tom... :+1: :coffee: :australia:
PS. I agree the fact that pin 13 is flashing means that the code has not uploaded.

Hi,
Can you show us a full screen shot just before you do an upload?

I can't see if you have a port selected.

Thanks.. Tom.. :+1: :coffee: :australia:

I’m giving up for today - maybe a good night of sleep will make it behave.
I will try to download the other IDE and give that a try!

It says, "done compiling". Then "uploading"... my guess is that there is a problem with the connection or options, the new IDE lacks explicit error reporting for whatever is causing the issue.

Hi, @nisaku
What operating system are you using?
If it is windows, the circled area should say what com port number you are connected to?

My 2.0.1 IDE with Nano connected. OS WIN 10.

What happens when you open the serial monitor, adding the code from post 14...

This is ridiculous…
I downloaded the Arduino IDE 2.0 - and NOW it works….. I have no idea why it wouldn’t function in the 2.0.1 IDE.
Really frustrating - but now I have my traffic-light going, and I will use this IDE from now on.

Thank you so much for all of your responses and help!

Steep learning process

Ps, it’s an MacBook Pro with macOS Monterey version 12.6, I don’t know if this could be a Mac-problem with the new IDE? :woman_shrugging:t3:

I have only heard that there is a version 2 of any kind.

I will mkve to it when and if it is absolutely necessary or I learn about a feature I don't feel I can live without or some code I want to use can only be compiled using IDE 2.x.y.

In other words, no time soon.

I suggest you to move to a late version of IDE 1. I think I suffer along with 1.8.19…

Especially for noobs or nearly noobs, to have an IDE that isn't gonna keep you (and your new friends here) running in circles is probably a good thing,

What he said. There is actually a subforum here for Arduino IDE 2.x discussions, where this thread should probably be moved to. For a newbie, I'd strongly recommend working with the version 1.x IDE variants for now, unless you thrive on experiences like this one turned out to be.

Thank you for your recommendations with the IDE. I don’t plan to have another experience like this again, where I sit and feel dumber by every minut, so I will go along with the 1.8 IDE then.
