Lesson 1 Blinking LED - Compile Instructions

My apologies. This is not my area of expertise. But, attempting to get onboard.

See post #8

Adding code tags requires no expertise if you follow the instructions

This is not a constructive comment. Perhaps there's something else you can do.

OI! @UKHeliBob @van_der_decken @GoForSmoke

Read Post #13.

You have posted two sketches but have not said why. One of the sketches compiles for me and another user of the forum. The other one doesn't

If you were to follow my instructions on how to copy your sketch from the IDE we would know exactly what you are trying to compile

When you load an Example, whatever was there goes away.

The OP is clearly lost and can't let go.

Great, thanks.

I see that you have flagged my post as inappropriate. In the circumstances I will let other moderators deal with it

Only if you load the example... but if you copy from one sketch and paste in a "new" sketch (without clearing or cutting), the bits of the "this is where you" remain. (you can see these bits in the error report)

Here is a clue. You were typing in NotePad when you should have been typing in the IDE. Why doesn't matter though I am sure there is a why, but it's like learning to swim with shoes on.

If you close the IDE and restart it then click File, a menu pops up then click Examples, menu, then 01 Basics, menu, then Blink it will load the sketch for your IDE.

Do you have any trouble with the IDE buttons? Or instructions?

You and I know that. We did something when we started out.

Thank you. That worked.

Good from here? The IDE has tutorial examples and other examples too to help. When you get a library not already included, examples for that will be ready in your menu.
You don't have to type but I suggest that when you are good with an example, make some changes to ensure your knowing and the lesson will be easier to remember. You test yourself and reinforce through interaction. A little more is better.
