Make a Punch/kick analyzer like Zepp Baseball/Golf swing analyzer

I have seen these Zepp baseball and golf devices that can record a person swing and display it in 3D format on their phone via Bluetooth and app. I am a master instructor for Taekwondo and would love to use this same process for kicking and punching, but I have NO IDEA where to start. All I know is that the Zepp using both the accelerometer and gyroscope sensor. http://www.zepp.com/en-us/baseball/smart-coach/

I am very new to this project, but am willing to learn and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Joseph Santarose

Looks cool. $150 is not terribly expensive, if you only own one as a trainer to help your trainees. I would get one myself if I were a coach but you're a marshal art instructor so the device won't work as intended. I wonder if you can hack a fitbit wrist band that has essentially the same sensors.

Here is a pointer:

You don't need arduino. You need a computer with bluetooth. I've never tried this since I have no fitbit.

i like the idea of a fitbit, but was trying to find out how i could use a gyroscope/accelerometer chip to record arm motion movement in 3D like in the zepp program.

Hi jsantarose, you should delete (or ask a moderator to delete) your other post on this same topic before you get lectured on the evils of double posting. I know, it was accidental, but you should have read the 'How to use this forum' thread before posting your question ya know. It gets you better help that way.

Whoops, there went the lecture. ...

The fitbit has both gyro and accel. on board. How else are you going to mount the sensors more nicely than a device that's already made to be worn on a wrist? If you are looking for low-cost solution, you have to pay enough to get your proof of concept done, which is normally not always as cheap. In this case, try a fitbit. The worst is you wear it like an amateur athlete or hand it to an friend.
