Measuring SpO2 and pO2 in static blood

Hello!

I am trying to measure SpO₂ and pO₂ from a reservoir of animal blood. Initially, I used NIRS sensors (Universal Oximetry System), but issues like sensor placement and light scattering made it impractical. I’m now exploring whether Arduino can be used to create a system that measures oxygen levels directly in contact with blood. Most options I have seen involve pulse oximeters, which aren't suitable for measuring dissolved oxygen in a static blood reservoir.

Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, this topic is outside my area of expertise, but here are two links that might help:

  1. Oxygen Transport and Hemoglobin Saturation (University of Michigan)
  2. The Dissolved Oxygen Handbook (YSI)

Good luck! Let me know if you need further assistance.
