Mechanism to push toggles

Hello,

I'm new in the field of Arduino.
I have done research but could not find the mechanism to push things enough to switch toggle like buttons.

I'm looking forward your advices.

thanks.

Hi @aleeristavi

You could add a MOSFET or relay instead of the toggle. If you really have to, you could possibly use a mini linear actuator or a servo.

Hi, @aleeristavi

They use a servo to push a toggle switch.

A bit of engineering could possibly get one servo to toggle it ON and OFF.

Can you please tell us what your project is, so we can advise you better?

You need to convert the rotational motion of a servo to a linear motion.
This video shows one of many many ways to do this:

Can you elaborate on "toggle like buttons", I have no idea what actual hardware you mean by this, please link to clear details on all hardware you mention in a question so we know what you mean.
"push things enough" - is ambiguous. Do you mean push hard enough or push far enough or both?

I want to turn on/off light switches

Thanks

thanks

You could secure the servo directly next to the light switch so that the horn is over the edge of the light switch. That way when the servo rotates ~200˚, it pushes the switch. You will need a continuous rotation servo though for that setup. It would also be out of the way so that the switch can still be pressed by a person.

Hi,
Have you Googled;

servo light switch

There are a myriad methods to attach a servo to a light switch.

Hi Tom,

No, I have not, I'm very new.
Thanks for advice, it appears very cheap solution.

Thanks, I will try this.
