Messenger widgit on dashboard

Does not receive messages.
Does not have clear messages icon or time stamp.
Was working OK.

Hi @mackarduino. Are you still experiencing this problem? I just gave it a try and it is working fine for me.

Are there any messages in the Messenger widget. These elements are only present when there are messages.

Hi,

If I change my device (ESP8266) to a different WiFi server do I need a new secret key?

No, but you do need to make sure to update the Wi-Fi credentials in the Thing configuration. You can do that by following these instructions:

  1. If you are not already, log in to your Arduino account:
    https://login.arduino.cc/login
  2. Click the following link to open the list of your Arduino Cloud Things in the web browser:
    https://app.arduino.cc/things
  3. Click the name of the Thing.
The "Setup" page for the Thing will open.
  4. Click the "Change" button under the "Network" section of the page.
The "Configure network" dialog will open.
  5. Change the "Wi-Fi Name" field to the SSID of the Wi-Fi access point you are now using.
  6. Change the "Password" field to the password for the Wi-Fi access point you are now using.
  7. Click the "SAVE" button.
The "Configure network" dialog will close.
  8. Select the "Sketch" tab at the top of the page.
The "Sketch" page for the Thing will open.
  9. Click the rightward pointing arrow button on the toolbar ("Verify and upload").
  10. Wait for the upload to finish successfully.
  11. Click the magnifying glass icon on the toolbar ("Open Serial Monitor").
A Serial Monitor window will open.
  12. Watch the output in the Serial Monitor window to make sure the board is able to connect to the Wi-Fi access point and to Arduino Cloud.

Hi Arduino Cloud,

This issue now seems to have resolved itself.

At the time there were long delays (up to several minutes or even no apparent update ) between an upload to the cloud and the download response from the cloud to the Dashboard.

Today 25/3/2024 Perth W Australia at midday the response seems OK.

I appreciate that web performance is subject to connectivity factors, ISP’s etc.

My web access is about 50MB/s provided by fibre to the node and a copper VDSL connection for the last 350m.

There have not been any connectivity issues or other web access issues.

What are the performance parameters that I can expect from the Arduino cloud in Perth WA?

Regards

mackarduino

I'm glad it is working now. Thanks for taking the time to post an update!

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for that. I try to help out the forum community as I am able, but I'm not very deeply involved in the Arduino Cloud service. Hopefully one of the Arduino Cloud team members who monitor this forum category will be able to answer your question.
