Modulator/Demodulator IC for U(s)ART?

Hi,

are there any Modulator/Demodulator IC for U(s)ART? Or something that will convert low baud rate (300-600baud) synchronous or asynchronous serial stream to an audio signal and also have the ability to decode it back to digital?
