mystery servo grease

Hi there. I have been working with some sg90 servo motors. i noticed that some of them are quiet in their operation but some are noisy so i opened them up and found that the ones which had more 'grease' or lubricant were far more quiet. i tried moving some of the grease from one to another and it worked, dramatically reducing the noise of the gears. i have tried in vain to figure out what this grease is. i tried white lithium grease as some had said on various forums, this had no noticeable effect. i also tried this which i was more hopeful of because it looks the same but again, no noticeable effect. i think both of them are not viscous enough. so my question is as im sure it is no surprise; does anyone know what this lubricant is? its the difference between my project being noisy or quiet and so its very important. any help would b much appreciated, thanks!

It’s probably silicon grease . It needs to be compatible with the plastics , some greases will destroy them

I've used Vaseline on a toothpick to lube servo gears. I think it is fairly inert when it comes to plastics.

thanks i will try both of these although is vaseline not too thick?

Vaseline sounds like a poor choice, because it turns into a liquid when it gets warm.
(silicone) "plastic gear grease" is all over ebay.

gonadgranny I'm currently facing a similar problem, and wondered if you ever found the right grease / another solution to the noise?

Just google servo grease, any good hobby website should stock it.

You can get silicone grease at the home improvement stores in the plumbing department.
