Need help fast! Arduino uno Q not booting on a new WIFI network

Hello all,

I have been using my new Arduino UNO Q at home using a monitor as a standalone computer. when I am away from that WiFi, my UNO Q does not boot. any help so i could get this running?

Mine is booting perfectly, if you want an Internet as well, you can do mobile hotspot from your phone, and connect this AP (via GUI). So add your mobile Access Point first, and then try to go out. Should work

Thank you for the information. However, I am 12, don’t have a phone, and need to use this to show off at school.

Your response is still very helpful as it clarifies one of my biggest questions. the reason I need this is because I want to do some gaming like doom at school with my smart backpack which I made by bolting the UNO Q to the fabric.

When you re-start AppLab, do you see something that looks like this screen?

It might need some protection... or it won't be able to be shown-off.

Wondering if you have flashed an updated version of Debian?

A computer other than the Uno Q is needed for this.

it was working fine a day ago, the debian is likely not the problem. and when I open app lab, it does not recognize the Q as plugged in. I assume that it has not booted yet and isn’t sharing information. that would explain why the heart animation on the LED matrix is not popping up, just the arduino logo. When I plug it in at home, it boots. when I plug it in at school, nothing. I just want to do gaming in math class! oh well. my calculator runs GTA anyway. the fabric part: i put some plexiglass bolted over it along with a cooling fan. it is fully separated from my textbooks.

I'm out.

Well I knew that the designers of the Arduino products had designed them for use in education, but I don't think they had quite that kind of application in mind!

The reason I asked is the early version of the system requires wifi when app lab starts. It will not proceed unless it can check the internet for updates. This has been corrected in more recent versions. I was thinking if have only used the board in Single-Board Computer (SBC) Mode you may not have ever been prompted to flash Debian and so you may be missing some important updates.

I had similar problem when using wrong USB-C cable or wrong USB port on powerbank, are you sure you using the same charger/powerbank/cable in the school?

You need 3A
