basically I get a "lcd does not name a type" error with this line, all librarys are installed and ide was restarted, but yet this still goes off, new to this forum but just need help as removing it obviously no go, and moving it to setup didn't work files are named correctly as well, this is the hello world that come with the screen, any ideas?
the sketch

lcd.init(SCR_WD, SCR_HT);

lcd.setTextSize(3);
lcd.println("HELLO WORLD");
}
void loop()

-------------problemed code----------------
Arduino_h lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);
can anyone help ive looked around for 2 hours across google, and cant find anything on how to get this to work
Where is the #include for the LCD library ?
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Please read the post at the start of any forum , entitled "How to use this Forum".
OR
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html.
Then look down to item #7 about how to post your code.
It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.
Where did you get the code from?
Does the library have any example codes?
Thanks.. Tom....
UKHeliBob:
Where is the #include for the LCD library ?
this is the st7789 hello world example code I can add it and see if it helps, I'm
guessing it just "#include lcd;" or would I have to look around around?

and yea srry new, but thxs ill take this down after,
the code is from the st7789 example sketches,
and well yes it is the example code, like UKHeli said, ill try adding "#include lcd;" or similar name to see if that was the problem as its the first time ive seen this error
oh and I have to say that the st7789 lcd is the only thing hooked up to it and running,
edit:
I checked my library folder and couldn't find an lcd or Arduino_h lcd, Arduino_h, Arduino.h, ect
still leads to the same problemed code,----
Arduino_h lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);
2nd edit:
if I put "Arduino_h lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);" into setup it goes from the original error to "lcd was not declared in this scope"
but would that cause problems later when I need to use that again?
You have somehow deleted the #include lines (if google has found the correct code):
#include <Adafruit_GFX.h>
#include <Arduino_ST7789_Fast.h>
Arduino_ST7789 lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);
Looks like you also changed the Arduino_ST7789 to Arduino_h

thxs I fixed it I believe, ill have to actually try it but theres no more complaint I just added these from another example code as I was looking thru an noticed it too but I added
#include <Arduino_ST7789_Fast.h>
//Arduino_h lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);
//Arduino_ST7789 lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST, TFT_CS);
Arduino_ST7789 lcd = Arduino_ST7789(TFT_DC, TFT_RST);
ripped it from a benchmark test sketch, but thxs for the help ill make sure to go to the right forum and stuff next time thxs all
Hi,
Good to hear.
Can you post your working code please, as it will help others who may have a similar problem.
Thanks.. Tom....
