Not sure what the issue is, to be honest, if the built in fan blew air towards that chip it would probably be fine. But i noticed very high temps on my board just using that drive as extra storage.
Added 1 AC Infinity blower that is on a thermal trigger to 98 degf, circled in red is the Dallas temp sensor. Works great, that side of the board is now cool and never hot to the touch. The fan is set to low, and runs every 2 minutes or so for about 30 seconds. Makes less noise than the built in fan running slow.
Figured i would post this if anyone else is concerned about that side of their board running hot.
I assume 98 degf is fahrenheit, so 36.7 celsius...that's pretty normal for NVMe. Maybe put a heatsink on it if you are worried? I can't find 2230 heatsinks in normal shops, only Ali or Amazon...normal SSDs are routinely equipped with heatsinks, on my big PC motherboard there's integrated heatsink...
For the benefit of readers of this thread, I'll add that @HKSpowered explained in another topic they found the cause of the unexpected SSD temperature:
See that topic for more details about using an NVMe SSD with the VENTUNO Q:
