Oscilloscope purchasing

Gadgetman9:
If anyone is interested, after much research I chose a Siglent SDS1104X-E.

I recently bought this scope as my first also. I have found it to be very intuitive and easy to learn.

Don't bother with the 16 channel logic analyzer add-on it is too expensive for what it is and the cheap Salae clones are more capable.

Thanks Larry. I actually watched that same video after reading your previous post while also researching differential measurements. I never thought about the computer being referenced to ground. Now I know. It seems if you just are careful about where the scope ground is attached to, you'll be ok as long as it's attached to a ground or negative.

Thank you for your help.

That is really comforting to know. I've wanted a scope for a very long time (years) but knew nothing more than they represented a signal graphicly based on a time/rise basis.

Thanks Hutkikz. They did look overpriced and I didn't know if other probes would work.
