Might be a stupid question, but didn't the usecase for these devices diappear ~ 20 years ago?
To those of use old enough to have worked with parallel printer ports, the idea of a "standard" is quite amusing!
My large format printers still use SPP, but I have USB adapters for them. Newer 48" printers are too expensive.
Thank you for this, im investigating ways to control printers for an art project, with a low cost solution such as arduino. This opens possibilities.
