Power Consumption of ESP8266 MotorShield high!

I am using such a motorschield user manual with a battery and solar panel... my problem is, even if I send the NodeMCU to DeepSleep it cosumes about 40 miliampere..the nodemcu without the motorshield only takes around 10 miliampere ...

Is there a way to reduce the power consumption of this board when the ESP goes to Deepsleep?

Hi,
QUOTE from specs;

Logic working current Iss:<=60mA(Vi=L), <=(Vi=H)

You may have to find out if you can switch it off the supply while the ESP is asleep.

Tom... :smiley: :+1: :coffee: :australia:

"This shield board is driven by the special excent large power full-bridge chip L293DD from the famous Stmicroelectronics company, which can directly drive 2-channels DC motors or one-channel stepper motor. The driven current can be arrived at 1.2A."

Haha. Several sales jokes in one sentence.

The ancient/inefficient 600mA L293D draws the least idle current with the two EN pins driven LOW (see datasheet). Up to you to find out if the EN pins are user accessible or not.
Leo..
