We do already do this to some extent. We typically create a dedicated forum category for each new product. This is announced via a topic created in the Community > Website and Forum category. For example:
The primary purpose of those topics is to bring the attention of the forum members to the existence of a new category. However, it also serves as a notification of the new product. The new category announcement contains a link to the original new product announcement, and the "About the ____ category" topic in the new category contains a link to the documentation page for the product.
Forum members who wish to initiate discussions regarding the new product are then welcome to create topics in the dedicated category.
That said, your excellent suggestion highlights that there is a significant exception to this: in order to avoid creating an excessive number of categories, we made the decision to use a single forum category for all products of the Modulino category: Official Hardware > Modulino. So, after the initial creation of that category, there have not been announcements on the forum about all the interesting new Modulino products.
I think it would be useful to announce new Modulino products (or any other products for which there will not be a new category announcement) on the forum in order to ensure our members are aware of their existence and directed to the appropriate place to discuss them. I will do my best to remember to make such announcements as new products come out. The community is of course very welcome to make such announcements on their own initiative if I forget or am slow to do so.

If you are into social media, following the official Arduino accounts can be a good way to get news about things like new products. However, social networks generally don't place every post from accounts you follow in your feed. They instead give you the posts the algorithm has deemed worthy to bring to your attention. So it is not ideal in the case where you actually do want to receive a notification of every single thing published by an account.
