option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Which item in that list is "Post in the wrong section of the forum"? I've not seen that step at that link.

The errors you have posted means that the Arduino IDE cannot communicate with your Arduino board. That may be because you have selected the wrong serial port or the wrong type of Arduino board.

I think you need to post a message saying that you have solved your problem, rather than hide it in the fine print of "Reason to Edit" line in the original post.
