Thx. For the advice. My problem was.
See pin 2,3,4. Last time i mounted my ethernet shield on top of the board
using the same pin, the LED won't light up.
When i remove the shield, its working fine(using just the arduino board.)

Ethernet is a bit too advanced for project 2, IMO.
i know iknow 
it comes with the kit so i just thought i'd mount it up.
why can't i light up an led from the ethernet shield's pins?(2-7)
I imagine the answer to that lies in the Ethernet shield's documentation.
