Pulling power from VIN?

Hello,

I am currently making a project involving a 12V external component and the arduino uno. I was wondering - if I plug a 12v power supply into the DC jack (to power the arduino), can I then pull the 12v using the VIN pin? Or is it another pin or not possible at all?

Not possible and not at all necessary.

Man up, strip some cable on the 12V power supply, and run off a 12V line for your fan.

And prevent yourself from making a bunch of threads about the same project.
