Hi,
Its been a while since I last did this but im trying to repeat a project I last used 8 years ago.
It involves powering led's via uno and 8 channel relay board.
I have set everythying up this morning as I remember it and also consulted some photos I had when it worked before. I am certain I have it set up as it was when it worked.
I have loaded the basic blink test to my arduino and it works, when I add the relay board the led on the relay blinks against the corresponding relay unit but there is no clicking !! I can certainly recall them being very loud. I attached an led to the relay and nothing!!
I have the relay powered by an external 5v psu + to jd-vcc and - to gnd.
I have pin 13 ( the one blinking) connected to the first relay module
I have vcc on the relay board (the one at the end of the bank of 10 pins) connected to 5v on the power side of the uno.......
As i have said the led against the relay module blinks but no clicking and no lighting of the led attached to realy module 1. Any help will be very appreciated
Sounds like inadequate power supply to the relay coil, to me. Have you measured the PSU output to make sure it's ok?
Hi All, just found the problem...... i powered it with 5v and its a 12v unit DOH!!!!

Just posted the same time Silvershovel.... you are correct.... just attached a 12v supply and its clicking beautifully, thanks for replying
Well I was correct for the wrong reason.... I meant was the supposed 5V supply actually giving 5V. But glad you sorted it.
