Remote Speaker

Hi all,

I would like to build a remote speaker. From hundreds meters I would like to be able to activate the speaker and play a specific track.

Do you have any advice on which component I should use?

Bluetooth speaker ...hundreds of metres will be a problem though.

Maybe time for a rethink.

What do you mean by 'remote'? You could be remote but have a wire connected. Or you could want wireless. You can get long range wireless with LoRa or wifi and a directional antenna. If the track is stored at the speaker then all you are doing is turning on/off over a distance. Really there is just too many questions and too little detail to offer any advice.

In particular describe what this 'remote speaker' actually is.

DF Mini to play the music.
LoRa to provide the communications (Search this site for LoRa, I have no experience with it other than having read a lot on here about it)
Just about any Arduino to control things, but maybe the Nano would be OK.

By "remote" I mean I can activate the speaker from the other side of the house, the range has to be 50-150 meters.
I don't want to use wires and the bluethoot tech has a too short range. On the other hand, LoRa has a very long range (15-20 Km): is there any middle way?

Yes, use LoRa, it works at short distances too.

If you want to operation 'by the other side of the house' at 150m, that to me implies a suberban type setting with a lots of buildings so most radio type modules might struggle to cover the distance, apart from LoRa of course.

Occasionally my job has taken me into some houses of some very rich people, a 150m long house is not so unusual...
