Replacement for Opto-Triac Module

Hello everyone I am trying to build a hot air station based of a 858d hot air gun handle. I have figured out everything required except the A.C. power switching. The guide I am following has suggested a OPTO-TRIAC module which consists of (MOC3063 & BT136), but i am unable to find this module anywhere other than the chinese markets. But I have found out that an SSR (solid state relay) will work as a great replacement. I need your confirmation on this, so that i can pull the trigger and buy it.

They are basically the same thing, the packaging may be different. I have always called them solid state relays and they typically will support a signal from aout 3V to 32V plus or minus a few volts and the power is isolated from the control. Try searching with this term: "us made solid state relay". I found a lot of them. A us made one was about $40.00 and a china one was $12.29, and the china one had a better rating.

That is because everything - and especially all these cheap, useful modules and the SSRs - is made in China.

So what in fact is your problem? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
