Basically, I have an RFID card and I want to copy it with an Arduino. Not make another card with the same info, but some sort of device that I could hold up to the scanner and make the scanner think I'm holding the card. I've read all the threads I could find on this topic and have found nothing helpful, just a bunch of accusations of evil intent. So let me explain why I want to do this.
For fun. That's literally the only reason I'm interested in this, just because I'm curious and it is something that interests me. So no, I do not want to give another card the same access, no I do not want to modify the scanner/reader at all, and no I do not want to break into the pentagon. To help alleviate some concerns, the card I have in mind is my OLD student ID from a community college that I no longer go to. The card is no longer in the system, so if I clone it, I still can't break into anything, it's literally a useless card and I just want to do this for fun. If you're concerned about other people seeing it and being evil, I'm perfectly happy with personal messages. But please, if you're intending to lecture me about how it's not safe or "maybe you're a serial killer trying to break into someone's house", save yourself the effort of typing. However, if you have some actual advice, I would be ever so grateful
Sorry about the attitude in the post, but I just spent a good two hours looking at numerous threads on this exact topic that all boil down to some smart-a** saying "I could tell you how to do this, but I won't."
So you dont want to copy the card, you just want to create a device that fools the scanner into thinking you have copied the card.
Of course everyone beleives you that its just for 'fun', but you are saying what someone who wanted to copy a card would say when it was not for 'fun'.
Why not have some real 'fun' and work it out for yourself ?
Do you think its a good idea that information on cloning cards is reaily avaialble to anyone who claims 'its just for fun' ?

So what you're saying is, if I tell you I have some nefarious purpose in mind, you'll believe me, and if I tell you I don't, you won't believe me. What if I go to an official court house and swear on a Bible in front of a judge and 5 witnesses while hooked up to a polygraph on video?

Ah yes, that had never occurred to me, I'm so glad I asked for help so that people can tell me to help myself. I'll just real quick here teach myself all the intricacies of RFID protocols in all the free time I have after my 23 credit hours of college work, successful social life, and job search.
