RFID Time Keeping for Car

Hello all,

I find solution keeping time in a TSD race car.

I'm looking for RFID solution as there is more accuracy as human time keeping.

Reading RFID is not a problem for short range , with passive TAG and contact reader.

But for a 3 to 4meter range......there is more difficulty.

One solution may be in the Antenna, but it is available for non active tag?
And another question, if the reader detect the tag at 10m, or 20m I'll lost all accuracy as a detect in 2 to 3 meter...

For the techonology, the Talk to Reading seems to be more efficiency with active tag.??

Could you give me some direction looking for to have a proper solution.

Time stamping a single car can be done with a light barrier. With multiple cars running and arriving at almost the same time, you'll need a number of receivers, working on different frequencies. Not really easy :frowning:
