Hi,
This project was to provide me with both lights for some shelveing where i have a few minitures storage, alongwith a desk light to working under. I wanted to have RGB but i decided rather than using IoT, Bluetood, Wifi or automation as I have in the past I would keep this Analog / manual.
Running with 2 strips of NEo pixel the idea was when pressing the power button both strips (desk and shelf) would come on white at 50% brightness. Then each press of the button for the indivual strips would activate the stip to take its colour from 3 Liner POT's (one for each of the RGB values), after a set time out the buton would "disable" and the strip would be fixed in its colour. Pressing the button for a second time while thwe stip was active would turn of that strip.
In this way I can have as many strips as I wish using only 3 POTS, as longas i have a button for each.
A quick video showing operation before instulation during testing. Shelf and Desk Ardunio Lighting Project - YouTube
I shared this on Tinker cad where i do some of my prototyping and the basic code can be found there.
I know there are plenty of imporovents to code I could put in, however I am nota coder and this fits my requirments. I might later add some more stips and re design the control panel (3D resin printed at the moment). At the moment it is running froma 2Amp phone charger and this is something I might need to swap if i want to run more lights, its currently sitting at 66 pixels at the moment. Though I am thinking of making a mark 2 using a 10A adaptor I have and having both manual and remote control for them so I can operate it from my phone as I have done before.
Any way simple quick project for any one who wants some pretty lighting.
One thing I would ask is my Electronics are very basic, if any one looks at my tinker cad project any sugggestions for improvments let me know.
Oh one Buttons LED's is faulty and waiting on a replacment you can see it dim in the video.
