I would build a robot arm with a vacuum gripper suction cup for pick and place (load weight: 40-50 gr.). Something with a small vacuum pump and a solenoid valve. I have no experience about vacuum circuits. I'm asking some advices about the design of the vacuum circuit (examples?) and the components I have to buy (links in europe/china?).
It's very difficult for me obtaining good results searching with google.

You will need a small 2 way solenoid valve... to either connect your pick-n-place hose to vacuum or to ambient (to vent it and release the part).
You may also want to use a small accumulator to "store" some vacuum so that your parts are not subjected to pump pressure pulses. A pressure transducer would give you feedback to turn the pump on and off to maintain the desired level of vacuum in the accumulator.

area of contact = power per sq ft. tiny contact point at massive pressure = low power
massive contact area at low pressure = high power
put a funnel on a bowling bowl with your home vacuum. try without the funnel.
the tiny motor will take longer to attain sufficient vacuum. so motor size effects speed.
A small unit like below might work, or possibly a larger car "dust buster" unit.
