Rust Libraries for Arduino Uno Q - MCU/Linux RPC Communication

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a Rust-based development framework for the Arduino Uno Q that enables communication between the STM32U585 MCU and the QRB2210 Linux MPU via SPI using MessagePack-RPC.

What's included:

  • arduino-led-matrix - Rust port of the LED matrix library (binary + 8-level grayscale)
  • arduino-rpc-bridge - MCU-side RPC server/client (no_std)
  • arduino-spi-router - Linux daemon bridging SPI to Unix sockets
  • arduino-rpc-client - Linux-side RPC client library

Example: Weather Display

The repo includes a complete example that fetches weather data from Open-Meteo API on Linux and displays temperature/icons on the LED matrix via RPC:

  • Flash RPC server to MCU
make build APP=rpc-server && make flash

  • Setup SPI router on Linux
    make setup-spi-router

  • Build & run weather display
    make build-linux APP=weather-display
    make deploy-linux APP=weather-display
    make run-linux APP=weather-display
