I was thinking of getting one of these..
what is everyone's opinion? personally i have heard nothing but good things about these.. just cheaper to buy than an actual arduino.. and the best part is there is no CH340G bullshit in it..

I've seen lots of complaints about Sainsmart equipment here in the forum.
hmm.. well.. looking for a mega 2560.. but do not wanna spend the $$$ on it - (hey, money is tight right now.. eventually i'll get an official one again.. i just need something to work with atm..) - don't judge me .. anybody have a good clone that works just as well as the original?
I killed one of these, but that was not the fault of SainSmart.
They are working ok (for me), I encountered no special problems,
but I was too closefisted to buy an Arduino version, so I can not really compare.
I've got the Sainsmart Uno & Mega, and both work fine. No issues at all.
Ian.
i ask because there are so many units out there..
sainsmart, funduino, iduino.. and others..
i just want something really 100% compatible cheap and reliable that i can work with.. but i have learned 1 thing.. NEVER EVER buy anything that says CH340G in it! throwing that useless POS in the trash!
what about a funduino? looks the same and offers the same in the specs...???

I've got a couple of Funduino Nanos as well. Both still doing well after extended use.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy either brand if I ever broke one. That said, I'm using a Teensy for most projects these days.
