I want to calculate a Power loss on a PCB trace high current (16A, 24A). Please see the screen shoots. In 2 cases, I got the same Power dissipation (W) but the currents are different. Other factors are the same.
It could be that you have got the same dissipation simply because you have hit the bump stops, and you have exceeded the practical application by a wide country mile. I'm guessing, but I would have thought it was most unreasonable to have a PCB carry 24A, simply because of the cross sectional area required. If it can be done, it will probably cost you some serious money. Check with a PCB fabricator. Or maybe the KiCAD forum.
The traces are not the problem because they can easily be built up by soldering solid copper wire into the trace. The problem you have is at the ends of the trace where something else must be connected!
Then you need some serious considerations of the "creapage and clearance" rules, in order to do this safely . This will involve having slots in the PCB.
